Racines

The journey of the racines collection began in 2021, as we immersed ourselves in the captivating realm of undiscovered Russian art deco, greatly influenced by luminaries like Maecenas Sergei Diaghilev, who famously introduced the Russian ballet company to paris in the early 20th century. This era also saw the emergence of composers such as Igor Stravinsky, whose neoclassical style harmonized with the art deco movement. The inspiration for the collection is grounded in extensive research of medieval Russian and eastern European art, motifs, folk tales, and cultural traditions. The Khram dining table draws inspiration from the trapezoidal shape commonly found in medieval Russian architecture, reminiscent of the grand tent-roofed structures of that era. Traditional Russian architecture is renowned for its similar forms, reflecting the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the artisans of that time. Each meticulously crafted angle of the dining table pays homage to this architectural mastery, capturing the essence of historical elegance. The trapezoidal shape not only adds visual appeal but also fosters a sense of intimacy akin to traditional medieval feasts, where communal dining is central to the experience. With its design rooted in history and experiential approach, the dining table becomes a focal point for gatherings and conversations, embodying the spirit of medieval architecture in a modern setting.
